Caffé Lieto and Kim's Homemade proudly announced the opening of their late night partnership, BISCUIT BITCH, on Friday, February 12, 2010. The goal of Biscuit Bitch is to bring fresh, homemade food with attitude to the partying masses of Downtown Seattle.
The initial press release described the venture:
"SEATTLE, WA...By day, Caffé Lieto is a funky, yet cozy coffee shop, internet cafe and local art gallery run by Rena Poppell with food prepared by Kim Allen of Kim's Homemade. Poppell, a gregarious tattooed vision pulling heavenly shots, and Allen, a diminutive perky housewife complete with flowered apron, keep grateful regulars and Pike Place Market tourists happy with coffee and comfort food.
But at 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights, their alter egos make an appearance: BISCUIT BITCHES!! Hard rockin', foul mouthed and aiming to please, Poppell, a.k.a. Bitch 1 and Allen, a.k.a. Bitch 2, will be serving up Biscuits and Gravy, sausage or shiitake mushroom, and all the breakfast fixin's to the hungry partying masses until 2:30am starting at $5 a serving.
"The only thing you can get around here late night is f**king nasty hot dogs, we decided to change all that and give the drunks some real food," says Bitch 1.
